JET Placement Information

I've been placed in Tochigi-ken. That's all I've been told. I guess I won't know much more about the what, wheres, or hows of things until I've heard from my predecessor.

But so far I've learned that Tochigi-ken is famous for thunderstorms, gyoza, and strawberries.

Here are a couple maps to give you an idea of where it is in Japan:

First Post

I found out the results of my application to the JET (Japanese Exchange and Teaching) Program... I'm in like Flynn.

I applied last November (2004), interviewed February 18, and received my notification of acceptance today. I leave for Japan on July 23.

Now I just have to let everyone know I'm alive and moving to Japan, quit my job, tell my landlord I'm moving out, and figure out what I'm going to do with all my stuff. Nice.
